My novels on this site are free to download . They are in PDF. To best use put whatever you take on a memory stick and take it to a copy center. Have them copy it off, best is recto verso, four pages to a sheet. Any copy center can then cut the pages for you—et voila, you have a manageable manuscript to read. If it’s easier for you clip the work together.
Short stories are easier, just print one out.
All I ask is that if you like my wife tell someone else about my site.
The concept of free literature is alien to our commercial work. Others have told me not to give my work away. But I want to share what I’ve written at such personal cost with as many as possible. What other reason is there to write? Fame and money, raw ambition, these motivate most writers. They motivated me too once.
Also, I am proud of all the work on this site. It achieves what I wanted. I am well enough educated in literature and general culture to have the highest standard with which to compare my work.
Free? Yes! And excellent. Strange writings some of it, but strange-unusual-sometimes difficult, this is what I myself am made of. I don’t believe this is arrogance. This is the self confidence of a dedicated and professional writer of literature.
So, then I had one novel published and three short stories. Then I was a given a writing grant, a prestigious one from the New York State Foundation on the arts. These events allowed me to move on, my talent had been recognized and rewarded. I felt vindicated in my self belief.
I put the drive and stubbornness to succeed that had propelled me on in writing novels and short stories on a daily basis into moving my family from New York to southern France and starting up a business. I became an advertising space representative for American business magazines across Europe and a journalist. New demons possessed me.
This plus an angelic three-year old with golden curls took all of me.
Still, before I left writing for two decades I did write another novel, L.O.V.E.
